This was another race where track temperature was lower than expected...after Bahrain things could be looking different

After watching F1 for years, if this season turns out to be as last 4-5, I think I'll finally stop watching it completely. It's become outright boring with this Ferrari domination, and I think the sport went down the drain...

Well, so far the first races have been less than exciting (apart from some exceptions). In both races, Schumacher drove from start to finish first, similarly for the runner up.

I'm hoping other teams will get their act together; this is still a possibility: Jaguar seems to have a nice car (Webber proved this, allthough it only was in qualifying), BAR seems to have a competetive car (Button), as does Williams (Montoya) and Renault... So I'm not giving up on this season just yet...

OK, the Ferrari team look to be on yet another winning streak, bar accidents. Is the car or is it the driver, or a combination?

I have a totally impractical idea: the drivers should take turns with the makes of cars. This way, we would see who are the best drivers and which are the best cars. If Schumi kept winning, whether he was behind the wheel of a Ferrari, a BAR, a Jaguar, a Renault etc., then we would know for sure that he was the best driver. If the Ferraris were dominant, no matter who was driving them, then we would know they were the best cars. It would put everyone and every car on a level race track.

After all, jockeys ride for different owners, why not drivers?

That's not practical, and there are too many confounds. Max Mosely went surprisingly quiet after suggesting that a year or so ago.

We would do better to only have one tyre manufacturer.

This is far more complex than jockeys/horses...the drivers know an awful lot about tactics, technology etc that can't be shared among teams, at least not in F1.

If you want to know simply who is the best driver, give them all exactly the same car and conditions. But, everyone acknowledges
that F1 is a TEAM sport.

I do remember some teams were not entirely opposed (IIRC, Minardi).
But it would make sponsorship very complex...

Untill a team issues team orders...

Apparently, most people don't like it to be a team sport...

Regarding tyre manufacturers... They should make tyres that are suitable for any car, and not construct them after one team (Bridgestone-Ferarri link), giving them the extra edge over others...

Nigel Mansell was the most exciting F1 driver I ever saw.. for the few years he was there. He made it worth watching every time, unless he crashed..
