So there I was sitting at the in-laws, who have almost every satellite channel you can get, and I decide to check out the merged G4 TV and TechTV channel, G4techTV. And honestly ... I think it sucks.

G4 seems to be designed to be as the MTV for video game geeks. The shows are very sub-par and the styles of the two stations clash severely. I kept expecting Leo Laporte to come out on to a post-modern, stainless steel set wearing elevator boots, tight black leather pants, an unbuttoned velvet shirt, and spiked green hair.

I am very sad. My TechTV has been taken over by a bunch of 13 year olds that who talk l33t and hack whenever they can.

Bleh!

I can almost garauntee that within 1-2 years G4techTV will become just G4 TV. It's a shame. TechTV was a respectible network, G4techTV is just a sham ... except for the few shows that survived the merger unscathed.

agreed. the more i watch G4techTV the less i think i learn from it.

they repeat a lot of shit and the visual styles have the appeal of a 9 year old girls notebook.

Not even the good looking young female hosts make the G4 part of the network watchable.

I've more or less quit watching the network since the merger thanks to the fear of catching any of the new G4 garbage...

Comcast bought TechTV from Steve Balmer (?, the MS cofounder guy) to breath new life into their failing G4 network, and to give it instant visibility on pretty much every cable and satellite provider in the US.

I can't bear to watch it unless a native TechTV show is on. Complete control over network content is with the G4 crew. The signal to the network keeps dropping when I watch(as in the signal that goes from G4 to Dish Network). I mean come on. This is a TECHNOLOGY network and they can't even keep their network broadcasting!!!!
