France versus Portugal with a deliberate hand ball at the end to give the game to France.

Well first major shock in the first game.

A poor Portugal side going down to a unskillful but hard working Greek side. The Greek side could have been three up in twenty minutes before Portugal woke up. Sadly for Portugal when they did get on top and looked like over running the greeks the greeks scored from a Penatly which should have been retaken.

Two Nil down Portugal ran around well and didn't force a save from the Greek Keeper until after the 80th minute. They did finally score in the 93rd minute but didn't deserve anything overall.

Overated stars like Figo and Ronaldo owe a lot to their agents.

Greece winning over Portugal, now that was a surprise.

I thought it was getting a bit boring towards the end. 2nd half the Greek Goal Keeper didn't have a save to make until 80th minute.

Well done Greece anyway.

No surprises in the other game. Spain 1 - 0 Russia. A better more entertianing game. Ref a bit over fussy and Spain tried to be a bit too fancy at times which prevented them from increasing the lead.

Good game though.

Portugal played very weak. Spain will beat them as well and then it's time to say good bye.

Oh man, what a twisted turn of events with England - France.
Beckham missing a penalty shot, the French make it even near the end and just when you thought everything was over, France gets a penalty shot in turn.

Why call a save of a penalty a 'miss'? Surely on-target, but the goalie guesses right, isn't a miss?

Beckham/Barthez played together for quite a few years, and sure trained penalties together more than once ... Rooney should've kicked the penalty. Really one of the sadest losses i ever saw. Exactly like when Bayern München lost the CL final to Manchester (2001?).

Ok, so it was a guess (as rare as it gets), though as thop said, someone else should've taken the shot.

Poor penatly. John Aldrige knew how to take penatlys after his miss for Liverpool. The pen should have been retaken for two reasons. Encrouchment and the ball not being on the spot aka Greece match yesterday. Differance Greece scored we didn't doesn't make any differance invalid penatlies both of them.

Rooney is getting fat isn't he. Showed as he should have been able to take the ball himself into the area and score.

Needs some strong words in his ear unless he wants a good career to go bye bye.
