                            yeah dodgy noises would be ignored... we live at the end of a cul-de-sac that does not appear on the likes of multimap etc. The police can't even find our house, let alone mount a prompt entrance!

                                                this reminds me when I first came to canada. Some people broke into the garage by messing with the sidedoor of the garage. Apparently because we just came to Canada, nothing was in it, so they couldn't steal anything. lol...

                                                        Wow.. looks like Britain would be heaven for criminals. Incompetent, unconcerned police, no guns allowed for people to protect themselves, and a legal system that lets the criminal successfully sue the victim if he is injured in the course of committing his crime, even if that injury is his own fault, such as falling off the roof. Atilla the Hun would be salivating.

                                                            My council tax went up by 20% this year, over 15% of which was directly to do police costs.
