    Shane Warne breaks world record

One the best spin bowlers I've seen in my life.

BBC, Sport, BBC Sport, bbc.co.uk, world, uk, international, foreign, british, online, service

No regard for the the type of wicket the player is bowling on lets slag him off when he gets the record.

I couldn't come up with a clever line hinting at The Hitchhikers Guide to the Galaxy's opinion on cricket, so I'll just say that it's a bad, bad thing.

I tried reading that article, but it's like another language entirely
Lady, people aren't chocolates. Do you know what they are mostly? Bastards. Bastard coated bastards with bastard filling. But I don't find them half as annoying as I find naive, bubble-headed optimists who walk around vomiting sunshine. -- Dr. Perry Cox

as I dust off my rusty Cricket knowledge..

The wicket itself is the set of 3 wooden polls at the end with the bails placed across the top.

However in this reference he is talking about the pitch. As from memory Warne is a spin bowler, the condition of the pitch greatly affects his ability to control the ball.
*the pitch can be in any condition from perfect, to dry and cracked to wet and soggy.

English doesn't borrow from other languages. It follows them down dark alleys, knocks them over, and goes through their pockets for loose grammar.
