Just got back from the Kerry rally

and the three hour wait to get in was fabulous, seeing all the fights break out between the bush and kerry fans.

We've sunk a long way from the time when John Wayne referred to himself as "the loyal opposition." I happen to agree with both sides in this election: It would be dangerous if the opposing candidate won.

Did advanced voting yesterday. Didn't feel like waiting in lines on the 2nd. The advanced voting place was pretty busy for being 1.5 weeks away from the big election day.

We have mail in ballots here in Oregon. It comes to your mailbox, fill it out and then mail it back or drop it off at a ballot box. The U of O has, I think, the largest ballot box: it's a couple stories tall.

Eight days until the lawsuits begin. This one is going to be close and you can bet that this time both sides are ready for a protracted legal dispute.
