Certainly looks like some form of mangy cur to me. Demodex infections do produce some horrible skin problems. I've seen feral dogs with totally bald heads and forequarters, and bald patches elsewhere. I also shot (with video, not a gun) a mangy coyote in the Calif desert: it had more hair than this beast, but I could well imagine it ending up like that.Brian (the devil incarnate)
