Seems Queen has found a new lead singer, years after the passing of Freddy Mercury. And they are planning a tour for '05!

And the new lead singer?
PAUL RODGERS!
Yes! Paul Rodgers from Free, Bad Company, and of course his own renowned solo career.

I never did get in to Queen too much, although I like their songs. My first record was Queen, but not much after that. It will be interesting to hear them for sure.

Queen is one of my favorite bands of all times, although I'm not much into their post-1977 albums. They're OK and have some killer songs on them but those first 6 albums are masterpieces.

I wonder what the "sound" will be like. Freddie Mercury had a pretty distinctive voice and piano style.

I'm not sure I can imagine them doing some of the non-mainstream-rock songs - things from "News Of The World" like "Spread Your Wings", "Melancholy Blue", etc.

I'd probably try to see them if they play near here.
