      Lol.
Here in Denmark ALL cars have to report for inspection every other year. And they are thorough.
Im afraid your poor car woulndt have made it past even one of the faults you posted.

But My old 4WD (from 1987) is still running. I have no clue as to how many miles it has gone, since the meter returns to 0 each 100.000. So it could be anywhere between 200.000 and 400.000.

Gets a new change of oil every other year, as its prepared to be validated for another 2 years. And its never failed to start, ever.

Worst problem was a flat tire (ran a nail into it when beaching a boat once. Driftwood, I suspect).

In Belgium, all cars older than 4 years also must be checked by an official instance every year. And independant of age: if the car is sold secondhand, it must be checked.
And the checks are quite thorough: even misaligned headlights are a cause for a red card (requiring one to get it fixed and present the car again), exhaust is checked (too many bad gasses => red card), brakes (even left/right + sufficiant braking power), suspension, lights (all of them), chassis (visual check + by 'shaking' the car), ...

Az: Yes the pimp-my-ride show is odd: the almost spend more money on that wreck than what a new car would cost. But still, it is impressive how they manage to fix up such a wreck.

Pimp my ride is interesting but who the heck needs and use for that matter six screens and two game systems in the back of their van or truck? The most practical one I ever saw was the one for the bowler.

You can't go wrong with either, from my experiance.

Inspection? we have them every year, and Liz's car would have failed ages ago.

Hmm, my car was due for an inspection this year. Didn't go, would of had to fork over all my savings to get my junk repaired. Yet I still managed to get my license and registration AND insurance renewed without it.

                No inspection for me, suckers.

@High_Jumbllama: I wonder how the owners of their newly pimped out ride manage to pay for the insurance afterwards. I mean, they put at least 22000 USD$ in every car they pimp. I know I wouldn't be able to afford the insurance.

Liz, we all know the only reason the car made the trip was due to the lucky MURC key fob you had attached to it during the journey

Don't forget the taxes. I would assume that they do not have a car payment but you're right. And what do they do when they need to get it repaired.
