Shell uses similar things in our Athabasca Oil Sands project:



My current boss was involved in the setting up of that project and has some interesting stories... one of which being that they have found that women drivers in these things tend to be far far better than men - for some reason the trucks last a little longer

Also when he was on a site visit once he witnessed a big truck drive over an empty pickup without even noticing... visibility of your immediate surroudings on the ground aren't exactly great Still, all other vehicles in the area have to mount massive poles with a flag on top.

I see they tried to blow that rock with explosives, but with limited sucess.

Once side fragmented into one large fragment and a lot of smaller ones, but the other side just sat there like it was giving the blasting team the finger

It only has a 75 ton shovel capacity. I'm sure it could probably push it out of the way, but it wouldn't be able to carry it anywhere.
