Very nice and scary feature (I agree with schmosef), unfortunately for north america only.
No offense chuck, but your city looks very dull and grey - this american "make everything right angled and name streets with numbers" thing is really strange to me.
AZ
It can be boring.. but I thought Germans liked right angles?
Anyhow, I have a map of Berlin from the mid 1800s and it's interesting how the newer parts of the city are all squarish blocks while the older parts are traditionally haphazard. It's like that in the US too.. look at any city built before about 1750-1800 and the blocks are not square. After this, it gets more and more this way, especially in places that are wide-open plains like OKC.
Hey Cool!
The bay window thingies are new and the landscaping has improved.
My bedroom was the one to the left of the front door.
I used to listen to Wolfman Jack there on my Sony 6 transistor radio (VERY high tech at the time)
That front door slammed shut on my left middle finger.
I still have 2 tiny scars where my finger popped like a balloon.
Oddly enough we have that same scalloped brickwork edging between our driveway and a flowerbed here.
Years ago Liz gave me an address for airial maps. I cant find that address but I was able to find this address. http://terraserver.microsoft.com/address.aspx
I think its the same place but microsoft took it over. Its pretty cool

Well, you can get maps and pictures and overheads of properties in Oklahoma County by going to our web pages and searching by address, name, property tax account number, etc.
But, it's still pretty neat that it can be done nation wide.
And I'm sure world wide soon.
There was a sattellite atlas of germany on CDs called D-SAT with a resolution of 1m in densely populated areas, about... 8 years or so ago. Wasn't even expensive, IIRC around 30 EUR.
I like that you can scroll the maps by dragging them ... very nice. I've been to OK City so I had to check out spots we visited like the Myriad Botanical Gardens. I wanted to look up the bombing site also but didn't spend much time with it yet (need to use my ActiveX enabled PC for that).

I talked to the owner's husband as he got home while I was taking pics of the house. The wife is the one who bought the house from your folks. I took tons of pics for you of the house and neighborhood, including your elementary school. I can shoot them up to you if you have an FTP site or something. Let me know how you want to get the photos.
I've still got my GE AM clock/radio from back then sitting in my garage right now. It probably still works. Wonder if I can still pick up The Wolfman?

So, has anyone found anything interesting yet? I noticed that the capitol building and the white house are blotched out, is that supposed to be some sort of security thing? Weird.
I also spent a little time looking for Bill Gates' house, but alas, I couldn't find it. There are a ton of big houses on that lake.
Lady, people aren't chocolates. Do you know what they are mostly? Bastards. Bastard coated bastards with bastard filling. But I don't find them half as annoying as I find naive, bubble-headed optimists who walk around vomiting sunshine. -- Dr. Perry Cox
