    US youths in politics

    An 18-year-old has just won the mayoral post in Hillsdale, Mich. and one in Roland, Iowa and Linesville, Penn. Two more have taken seats on the city council of Waterville Village, Ohio and Westbrook, Maine respectively. That youth and inexperience do not equal disinterest is not new in American politics.

      that actually scares me. a lot.

      although I don't know if it is scarier that he got the job or that he might do a decent job with it.

          Pfeh. The only thing the 18-year-old brings to the job is that he hasn't yet sold himself to the highest bidder. Note the "yet" attached to that last sentence.
