They don't have LED's or anything close to it, they use similar optical techniques to alter the frequency of emited light.
LED =light emmittng DIODE = semicounductor junction...the packageing is not the LED.
but anyways, apparantly no animal on earth actually has blue colouring, its all an optical effect.
