    Hypersonic cruise missile?

    Past and current cruise missiles are very accurate, but just as slow. That appears to be changing as ATK (Alliant Techsystems) has sucessfully tested a MACH 5.5 scramjet that runs on JP-10 jet fuel instead of exotics;

    Science news and long reads from expert journalists, covering developments in science, technology, health and the environment on the website and the magazine.

    ATK was the contractor for the X-43a scramjet that achieved MACH 9.6 last year, but it burned hydrogen.

    Feck cruise missiles, I think scramjets are nice way to get you to escape velocity for space/orbital flight.
