The main thing is, you are *mating. What kind of mating it is is really your own private decision.

If I explain the joke it won't be funny.

Suffice it to say that if one infers your typo to be Oedipic, then you said you want to marry 12 versions of your mother.

Did you ask Gurm what he was into mating? Hopefully nothing but mommoms (Mrs Gurm being a 2-time mother.)

I do wonder though why this is perceived as "slippery slope"? How does the legalisation of gay marriage, a one-on-one commitment, help the case of polygamy? In fact, I am pretty sure that where polygamy is legal, gay marriage is not.

I've seen people on TV debating the issue of gay marriage saying that it's a slippery slope into moral decay and that if we allow gay marriage then there's no reason we should not allow polygamy and then inter-species marriage.

                          I didn't say I agreed with them.

You did by using their words without marking them as a quote, thus making them your own.

Ok, on the original topic - the idea that gay marriage and polygamy are linked... is based COMPLETELY in the idea that all "morally wrong" activity is related. It's a relatively ridiculous premise... because taken to its logical conclusion one can assume that anyone who has sex before marriage (a big no-no to the moral do-gooder types) will eventually start killing people. Pfeh!

It's like the idea - relatively prevalent, mind you - that gay people are all pedophiles. It makes no sense at all, unless you understand the mindset. The mindset is "anything that isn't ok with God is equally bad and derives from Satan". Therefore once you've let Satan into your mind/heart/life, he'll continue to run your life until you purge him with Jesus. It's a quaint, ridiculous notion - but nonetheless one that is commonly held in the Christian world.

                                christian-bashing aside:

We don't have that many lunatic christians here (or they hide better ), and I'm quite comfortable with the moderate ones - same as with moderate followers of all religions, really. The dose makes the poison.
