In a different era you would be well past your life expectancy. I, on the other hand, won't reach the minimum until next month. If I am just near life expectancy, I could be called "old," and by the same token, you would be "ancient"

Those numbers are weighted down by infant mortality. If you were to consider how long someone could expect to live after they reached age 6, that statistic would look much different. A 30yo was not considered ancient at any of these times.

@DukeP, The Danish boycott has disappeared from our news sources. What's the current status over there? Is the boycott ongoing? Has it hurt the Danish economy? Have any large companies gone bankrupt? What's the political climate like?

In practice: Nothing have happened.

It might be because of the general strong Danish economy, but I dont know of a single company closing over this.

It has made some farmers shift towards ecological products (which incidently, there inst a marked for, in the arab world).

By switching, the increased demand for ecological products have more or less equalled (or surpassed) the lost profits from the arab countries.

All in all: no real differece.
Well. More people dislike the arabs, here in Denmark.

And theres been a large focus on the majority of the Danish muslim population, which is pro Denmark.

The government that does not expel these people is a traitor unto its own and deserves to be deposed.

What do you mean by "ecological products"?

Well. In Danish, its called "økologisk".

Ecological; eco-friendly; organic - I really doent know the right word for it.

In Denmark, you can apply for a certification, that proves that you do not use industrial fertilizers, pesticides, hormones or genetic engineered material as a part of growing your product.

The market for ecologic milk and cereal is larger in Denmark, than the market for non-ecological. The only export to the arab countries was non-ecological.

So the net result of the boycott is a shift towards a greener, more eco-friendly agricultural establishment. Which means more birds and plants for the rest of us.

Thats generally a good thing.

Ok, I get it.

Over here we just call it "Organic".

That's awesome that the organic market is so big there.

It's kind of small in Canada. The quality of organic produce here is very low. Although I'd guess that the market on the other side of the country, in British Columbia, is much better.
