Update: the Detroit Free Press is reporting that the coroner responsible for the mixup says he is "not cut out for the job" and will resign at the end of the year.

Unfortunately, this kind of thing happens, quite frequently, especially with burns victims. Nowadays, even dental records are often useless, in these days of perfect, regular teeth without cavities. DNA is the only reasonably sure way.Brian (the devil incarnate)
