Unless you're in an RX-8, an M5 or a Viper? You're gonna get caught.

If they don't try and fishtail you then your only chance is with a fuel efficient vehicle. Although I doubt that one of those ugly police cruisers could do more than 400km on a tank of gas.

Too bad you didn't read the article then. 25 m.p.g. highway.

And police interceptors usually come with oversized tanks to give a range of 450-500 miles, full race suspensions, oversized radiators, coolers on the tranny & steering and massive ceramic ABS brakes. Very wicked.

I don't need to read the article to know that if I'm driving a fuel efficient car, that I can out distance a Charger even if both vehicles have a full tank of gas.

                  I get 9.9L per 100km. It's fuel efficient, for a 3.8L V6.

I was renting cars for about 6 months last year and early this year. I had a Charger for about 2-3 months.

                    Nothing special.

The Camry I rented at one point handled better and accelerated faster. Although top speed honours definitely went to the Charger.
                    P.S. You've been Spanked!

Comparing a fleet car to this isn't exactly valid.

If you're trying to outrun police, you're rarely outrunning one police car. They trade off in shifts, plus the ones that get in front of you

Yeah, and that's if they haven't tried to fishtail you in the process.

Not to mention that in the US police helicopters and now UAV's partake in the persuit.

You can outrun a cop car, but you can't outrun his radio.
