It's a sad - and probably at least marginally successful - attempt to revive the ratings of a show that has been kept going long past its prime.
Survivor was a ridiculous concept. Torture some people for a while, force them to sleep in the open without shelter, prevent them from making shelter... then make them play stupid mini-games and argue with each other.
And I have NO idea where they find the people to play this game, either. None of them displays any real human motivations. They're on the show for a few weeks, and yet they're all weeping openly when they miss the change to read a letter from home. I'd miss my wife and kids terribly, but when presented with the option to win the game or read a letter... c'mon, folks!
So you've got idiotic (yet business-savvy) producers, idiotic (and emaciated) contestants, and a subhuman-level-intellect viewership... and it's a SURPRISE that they've played the race card to garner more ratings?The Internet - where men are men, women are men, and teenage girls are FBI agents!

That headline has a big agenda that comes with it.
