1964 - LBJ's "daisy girl" campaign ad implying Goldwater would start WW-III.

Even todays liberal commentators admit this was the start of todays attack politics. Most also admit that Goldwater was a statesman not deserving of the low blow.

When Grorge McGoverns troops took over the Democrat Party in '72 they used similar tactics against their fellow, but center-right, Democrats in a far left (aka: "New Left") theocratic purge that persists to today.

Those who left the party became the Reagan Democrats, Libertarians & many of the NeoCons of today.

let me guess, you've never seen American Dad? From the same guys that made Family Guy. That kind of funny.

i'm not trying to be punny but lil'bush is the mini-me of that kind of genre.

I also recomend Robot Chicken for 'extreme make fun of everything nothing is sacred' genre.

            ...
See, and there I thought McCarthy & Co. predated that by a bit.

And anyway, it goes back as far as history goes.

You forget that while McCarthy was a firebrand a'hole he was not in the position of McGovern: even as a losing presidential candidate he was the head of the entire party, which gave him the power to reshape it in his image.

Political satire re the opposite side started at least 100 years earlier.

Does this member of McCarthy and Co. look even slightly familiar?

PS Finaly watched the movie. There was about one minute of satire in there, the rest just dreck.
