Firefox deleted all my Bookmarks...

Last night, after an unwanted reboot (just a 'clunk' of the Monitor switching off), I opened Firefox, and Not one bookmark left, even the bog standard ones are gone...

Anyone know where they are stored, so I can try to get them back ?

bookmark.html which is located in somewhere in the appropriate profile. I do not remember exactly where.

Its completely deleted it. There was only one Bookmark.html file on C drive, and it was in the "defaults" directory.

i found a relatively old Bookmark file, but it only has the regular tabs I use, which is a start, but NONE of the actual, individual bookmarks i made...oh well, I'll have to remember to back that one up regularly now...

Backup your bookmarks everybody, and any other useful "lists" likewise...

I had firefox do the same thing to me a while back.. I guess I learned to make backups of my bookmarks more often

Have you tried running the profile manager?

There's no use trying to find them. They're gone. I lost all my bookmarks a couple months back and ... well, it's no use. There's no way to retrieve them. It's a BIG bug in FireFox, if you ask me. IE never lost a favorite...

Hehe, catnip won't go down too well with the customs people

Theres only one slight blight about hte backup, and thats that it is incapable of replacing the "Bookmarks Toolbar Folder".
It just creates another one. Just means faffing around for 10minutes while you pop them all back to where they should be.

really? i managed to transfer everything across OSes by just copy pasting the \Profiles\[random].default\ folder.
