    Should a hard drive really sound like this?

    We got in a laptop that was "broken" (yup, some customers thinks that’s a reasonable description of the problem ) and my co-worker turned it on and heard something he first thought was a failing fan.

    He removed the hdd to make a backup in case it had to be sent in on warranty and, well just look for yourself
    If there's artificial intelligence, there's bound to be some artificial stupidity.

    Jeremy Clarkson "806 brake horsepower..and that on that limp wrist faerie liquid the Americans call petrol, if you run it on the more explosive jungle juice we have in Europe you'd be getting 850 brake horsepower..."

    That can't be good... perhaps it needs to be defragmented? And by that I mean open it and clean the bits of broken metal out.

          Sounds more like my moped when one of the piston rings (correct word?) had broken
