A new extra-solar planet has been found around the red dwarf Gliese 581, a star type that is extremely long lived, stable and the most common star type in the Galaxy.
It's the third rock out, in the stars habitable zone, 1.5x Earths diameter, 5x its mass and ~2x its gravity. In other words it could easily be a waterworld like Earth.
