    OCALA, Fla. - A Marion County man said he thought he had scratched off a $500,000 winning lottery ticket.

    When he tried to claim his prize, he received nothing at the lottery office, WESH 2 News reported.

      Sadly, it's not the first time that this has happened in Florida. I can recall at least three other instances where the state claimed the ticker or whatnot was not valid.

      They should step-up and compensate the guy in some manner, even if it's not for the full amount.
