    Iron Man: did you see.....

    what was on Tony's workbench during the scene where Pepper walks in on him? Highlight below....

    Captain America's shield

    Remember that in the Ultimate timeline it's Tony Stark/Iron Man who finds Cap in the arctic, and Samuel L's black Nick Fury is from that timeline. Marvel even used him as the physical model for Ultimate Nick before these flicks were even planned.

                          Also they are saying that Captain America will be mentioned by name in the Hulk movie.

                                              An insider at Marvel confirms....it is a prototype of Captain Americas Shield.

                                              Tony Starks father created weapons during World War II and was the one who created the shield for Cap, which is why Tony has a prototype.

                                              Why did Tony Stark have it out on his work table? As a reference for the Iron Man suit, which is made out of the same metal as the shield.
