    Lapdog

Yesterday, Margaret scolded the dog for excessive barking, deranging the neighbours. He knew he was in trouble and lay on his bed for 30 minutes or so. She was meanwhile relaxing in an armchair. He decided to try and make amends and did something quite unusual; he thought he was a lapdog!

I wish my kids took such notice of when they were being scolded! Although they do like the cuddles at any time

The late Spike, 110 lbs of Rottweiler and Rhodesian Ridgeback, always thought he was a lap dog. Problem was you could hardly breathe with that beast on your chest (abdomen, neck, face, legs, arms....)

Our Great Dane is like that. She's small for a Dane, only ~110 lbs at a little over a year. Dane's apparently have the nickname of the "largest lap dog".

What they don't tell you is that dane's like to sit on everything. Smaller dogs, people, beds, feet, laps...
