The real world is cooler: HI-MEM's - cyborg insects for use by the military and intel agencies. If you're thinking about the spy-cockroach in Fifth Element you're still too conservative in your thinking. They can already steer them in flight and there's talk of weaponizing them. Unlike 5+ year out of date early prototype below the electronics would be inserted during the larval stage and be mostly internal in adulthood.
