    I still think it is a shame the scourging of the shire was not in LotR, that was IMO the best part with Saruman.

        couple of updates:

        - filming has started 6 weeks ago
        - it is shot in 48fps
        - Hugo Weaving is back as Elrond
        - Sir Ian Holm has a short role as old Bilbo as well
        - not yet officially acknowledged, but lots of sources say that Legolas could have a short role as well (despite some others that actually makes sense for the purists, as he was at the Elvenking during the book times)
        - it is indeed in 3D or how else do you explain that pic
