    Star Trek TOS: the series 'pitch'

    Just what it says, the document Roddenberry used to sell Star Trek to the studio. Much is familiar, some was only seen in the pilot The Cage, and some changed. Other parts made it into later series, including the animated series. An interesting read....

      Portions of this were reproduced in The Making of Star Trek by Stephen Whitfield. I had a first edition from 1968 but sadly I literally wore it out reading and re-reading it. (I still have the loose pages stashed away somewhere!)

      Fun reading the complete original document.

                  BTW: Grace Lee Whitney is from nearby Ann Arbor, Michigan. Sad to say she passed in 2007.
