Judge kills Michigan stun gun/Taser ban

    Detroit Free Press....

Bottom line is that he held the law banning civilians from having them unconstitutional under the 2nd Amendment because they are a weapon and should be available. If this holds the laws against switchblades, carrying edged weapons >3", ninja stars, etc are also likely to fall.

Mebbe if this goes all the way my CCW will also cover my katana & batleth

Maybe. I've seen people do it - we have a rather large Klingon "community" in the area that does just that on weekends. Ever see a motorcycle run of Klingons? I have.

Unfortunately here, the only Star Trek people know of is the 2009 film.
afaik, neither TOS or TNG were shown here. Might be now, but I don't watch french telly.

80% of our TV watching is French. For example, Arte has many superb documentaries. Last night they showed one on little-known facts about the construction and architecture of French cathedrals (St Denis, ND de Paris, Chartres, Reims etc). Its quality can be judged that I didn't fall asleep! Also Suisse Romande, TV5 Monde, TV Mont Blanc etc. Unfortunately, can't get the regular chains (TF1, ANT2 etc. as they are encrypted and I haven't found how to get a card). English is restricted to BBC World and Euronews.

Apologies for hijacking the thread, but the US Constitution is boring. YAWN!

For some light bedtime reading, try the EU Constitution: 855 pages, 156,447 words!

Which, of course, is downright ridiculous. The more words there are in a legal document, the more contentious it becomes. Old Moses got it right. "Thou shalt not steal" says it all without going into all the mumbo-jumbo of robbery, thievery, burglary, mugging etc.
