I'm so very sad to hear this. We aren't supposed to out-live our kids, and my heart goes out to you and your family. Hold them close and give them strength, especially his mother - her pain is going to be unimaginable for a long time. Don't get lost in your own grief and shut her out - I've seen that happen too often.

Kruzin, Although most of us don't really know each other, apart from the interactions on this place, we are like an extended family.
I am truly sorry for your loss and don't have the words to really express what i want to say, but just know that all of us here that have gotten to know you a little over the years are thinking of you and your family at this time.

At best, even if he had survived his other injuries (which he was never stable enough to have treated), his life would have been spent in a vegitative state.

We made the choice to let him go, and removed life support. I was with him to the end, and it was a quick, peacfull passing. He was gone within minutes of being taken off the respirator.

He has already saved lives and helped people, and will help many more. His liver went to a young lady in Nebraska, his kidneys to someone here in Colorado, as well as his retinas. Heart valves and other tissues will help many more in the days to come...
