Not practical, then there are the crack & meth-heads who would walk right through it. As it is some of them walk through .380's and 9mm's, which is why the FBI and many others in law enforcement switched to .40 S&W's (10x22, 3mm shorter than its 10x25 Auto Norma parent to fit smaller framed weapons.) Many civilians followed suit for defensive carry.

In my ER days we had them come in with 4-5 9mm's in them and were still walking and combative. Not so much with .40's, .45's or with a load of 00 buckshot, a 12ga slug or sabot.
