    Abort at T-0

Abort cause: the spin-start valve didn't open.

Trying again tomorrow; same Bat-times, same Bat-channel.

      Starship SN-O5 has successfully hopped.

Next is SN-08 with a nose, full fin set, and envelope expansion.

      Start at about 23;00

        New info

        Elon Musk @elonmusk
V1.1 legs will be ~60% longer. V2.0 legs will be much wider & taller — like Falcon, but capable of landing on unimproved surfaces & auto-leveling.

        Replying to @elonmusk @bluemoondance74 and 2 others
when will you do a hop and a relight? i.e. - land and take off again?

          Ars Technica space writer,

          Eric Berger @SciGuySpace
Just so we're clear, SpaceX built a Mars rocket out of rolls of steel, in tents, in South Texas, in weeks. And the first time they flew it, it made a smooth launch, a controlled flight, and safely landed. This is truly remarkable.
          |
Mars is still long freaking way away. So very far. But the first step is low-cost, frequent access to space for tons of stuff. This is the first step toward that first step. And it's a big one.

There are RCS thrusters top and bottom.

Official SpaceX drone video. Looks like some kicked up debris, tape, etc caught fire on Raptor then burned out by the last engine shot.

            Summary of Musk tweets,

            What's next, Elon? 20km hop?
            |
We’ll do several short hops to smooth out launch process, then go high altitude with body flaps

Today marks the beginning of a new era, even though this is a small step. We are a giant leap closer to mars than we were yesterday, the future of interplanetary travel is upon us. MARS HERE WE COME!

Not sure yet, but hopefully. Will need leg & other repairs. Probably SN6 flies before SN5. We need to make flights simple & easy — many per day.

Sounds like local winds caused it to drift.

SN-06 static fire, and a hop soon after. It sounds like hops are going to pick up the tempo, tag-teaming SN-05 and SN-06 until SN-08 is ready. The SN-07.1 tank test fits in when ready.

SN-08 will be the first full-bore Starship to fly; fins, cargo/passenger module, and capable of the 'skydiver' descent profile.

                    Primary date: August 24
                    Backup dates: August 25, 26
                    Window: 0900-2100 Eastern

As usual; to be livestreamed on YouTube by LabPadre, NASASpaceFlight and 'Everyday Astronaut' Tim Dodd.

The Boca Chica High Bay is still climbing, targeting at least 81 meters/265.7 feet tall. It's for stacking 72 meter (236 feet) Super Heavy boosters. Falcon 9 fully stacked with a second stage & fairing is 70 meters.

Super Heavy launch table construction. It may have an "orange juicer" flame deflector. The 6 "legs" will be 2.5+ meter wide heavy guage steel tubes filled with reinforced concrete, supported by some very deep underground pilings.
