Recorded by an amature astronomer. The plume extends beyond the Martian atmosphere. Maybe a meteor strike or (somewhat less likely) a volcanic eruption. Or maybe we should start watching out for falling cylinders...

It sure looks like an impact of some sorts. Maybe a large rock hit the surface and threw the plume into the air?
