I've just installed the latest version of QNX and because it doesn't support the Parhelia, I'm limited to a horrible 60Hz refresh rate in VESA mode....I have the Linux drivers and I guess they should work, however when I start the install it says I'm not logged in as root and aborts (an I am logged in as root!)....does anybody know how I can solve this problem? If it can be solved that is...

Parhelia on QNX

Uhm, I'm not quite sure what you're trying to do, but forget about getting the kernel modules loaded, since QNX in in no way related to Linux. And I think that the GUI QNX uses is called Photon, and is not X compatible, you can't very well be thinking of using the Parhelia drivers wth that? Or have you gone through the trouble of installing XFree86 4.2 on your QNX? You're probably not going to be able to use your favourite QNX apps with that, so I don't really see the point. And the XFree86 driver is "binary only", so you can't very well recompile that for QNX either.

Well, first of all, I'm not familiar with QNX or programming....QNX does use the Photon GUI but I think it is X compatible...i've installed XFree86 (a very simple process actually, I just installed the package from the 3rd party apps CD)...I'm really just checking out QNX to see what it can do, I'm not using it for anything serious, however I would like a better refresh rate...if it's not possible then that's it, I was just inquiring. All work and no play makes Jack a dull boy.

Well, you still have the problem of the Parhelia mtx.o being provided binary only. Perhaps Matrox will release the source for the mtx driver when it's no longer beta, but don't hold your breathLast edited by albatorsk; 19 September 2002, 07:43.

LeechWah! Wah!
