Be patient and wait for a new driver to be released before you decide to upgrade.
The current driver has some serious flaws, and if they don't fix most of the issues with the next driver (it's been four months since the last driver was released), I'm ditching my card for an ATI or nVidia solution.Last edited by albatorsk; 27 March 2003, 15:54.

Agree.
Though I'm not ditching mine.
I suggest you not to have too much hope on newer driver...
Look at G series... how many months has it already been? (last driver doesnt count as it is just a change in the installation script.)P4 Northwood 1.8GHz@2.7GHz 1.65V Albatron PX845PEV Pro

Ben over at the Matrox Tech forums did state that they had "less than what we have for windows but more than you might think." When I asked him if he could let out the info on how many developers....

Ben's statement doesn't actually say anything.
Consider this: I think they have 4-5 guys working on the Windows drivers, and 0 guys working actively on their Linux drivers. What he says is basically they they now have 1 developer on the Linux drivers, which is less than on the number of developer working on their Windows drivers, and more working on the Linux drivers than I would think.

I was thinking that there were at least one that was working on the linux drivers. So that means at least two are working on them
On a little more serious note, at least now we know that they ARE working on them, however slowly that is......
Though now that it comes down to the wire, I may have to sell my Parhelia for something with a bit more support. But lord knows I couldn't go to nVidia.... While they have nice drivers for linux (or so I've heard), their 2D quality sucks major ass compared to Matrox's. ATI looks like they may get my money. But we'll see what happens...
