  • EEK Help!!

Ok, I moved down here and brought a USB mouse and a new keyboard with me. I run a dule boot 98 and suse. I've been using 98 since I got down here, but I wanted to boot up the suse os and thus did. at the login screen it won't recognise my mouse or keyboard...I had swapped out CD roms which caused and ESCD update to occure all the time untill I put it back, but would a new keyboard and mouse than the one during install cause linux not to recognise them???

    any help would be great!!

What version of SuSE is it? The last version I used did probe for USB mice/keyboards during install (although I had neither, so I don't know how well it worked).

Is your BIOS set to use USB devices as legacy devices? (Not that I know if that will help either)

I'm using SuSE 7.0 and I had one keyboard and a ps/2 mouse on install, but now I'm using a different set, and wonder if that's the problem...

Keyboard wise, it should just detect it and work fine. You might have to change your XF86Config file for your mouse though.
