  • Abiword 2

I used to use OO.org for all my word processing, but Abiword 2 is really nice. I think I'm only going to use OO.org only for the few things where I need super advanced functions.

I've been using AbiWord since about 1.1.4. Overall it's very nice (and small and fast!), but it has a few annoyances which mean I use OOo for anything more advanced than a letter or my CV.

Have they got the AbiWord 2.0 final ported to Windows yet?

I never tried Abiword, but OO is coming along nicely.

OO is very nice. It actually HAS to sit on at least one of my machines because of native PDF-outputting support. Were it not that I rely on Excel so thoroughly at work, and so need it at home, I wouldn't need office at all at home.

I usually stick to OpenOffice as well, but I might as well give Abiword a shot.

My main beef w/ OO right now is the fac that it's always looking for a Java install. So then i have to go get the new sun java. it's just a pain. Plus, Sun Java is worse than MS Java.
