  • Linux to Windows Network very slow

Well, my latest try to switch to linux worked quite well.

Suse 9.1 installed fine, internet worked from the start, getting used to it all.

The only problem is that it somehow broke my windows (maybe it was a little broken before), and I'm trying to copy some file from my windows drives to another windows PC.

To my surprise (last I checked it needed some heavy configuration, both on the linux and the windows PC), Linux found that PC without any configuration to be done, and is also able to copy my files. The only problem is, that the transfer speed is about DSL speed (96~120 KB/s).

Is there any way to speed that up, because I have quite a lot to copy, and it might take days this way.

Oh, and by the way, the G400Max drivers from the matrox site say my XFree version doesnt support those drivers, how to I upgrade that?

    Thanks

Ok, just had to install the drivers for my network device, now its faster

As for the g400 drivers, how do I shutdown my X Server? (very new to all this)
