  • Anybody running a Parhelia in PcLinuxOs TR3?

I wanted to try installing my Parhelia into PcLinuxOs TR2 or 3 but run into a problem with the screen going into garble-fooey mode as soon as the setup (Questions about keyboard, network, etc.) screens start. So I booted to a command line and tried to load the Matrox Linux drivers but was told:

The X server drivers included in this installation package
do not support the current version of your X server.
    7.1.1.0

Now the Matrox site says the latest drivers are good for Xorg 6.7.0 and up. And since Matrox has dropped their support forums,,,,,,, well darn!

So I thought I would turn to you folks to see if anybody is sucessfully running a Parhelia in PcLinuxOs AND if you got the latest Matrox drivers to load and function.

Or can you relay what version of Linux you are using? And how many features are working?

      Hi there.

As it happens, I was searching for instructions on loading the Parhelia driver in Ubuntu, and found this link:

I haven't tried their instructions, and they'll need to be modified a little for a different distribution, but it may be a good place to start.

Please report back with success/failure stories
