  • Raspberry Pi 2 Thread

    Okay.

    Just to say that three werks before the Raspberry Pi 2 announcement, I bought a PcDuino v3.
    A Dual core Arm A7 chip.

    Its actually pretty fast for the usual internat usage, and simple email, text writing stuff.

    I'll be ordering a Pi2 because the ecosystem is going to be so much bigger, with xbmc support and stuff.
    And its a quad A7.

    Half a million sold in three weeks.
    Says it all.

    Thoughts, Experiences, and Insights, Here Please :-)

    (I just have to find a way to adapt the PcDuino TFT Touchscreen to the Pi2)
    PC-1 Fractal Design Arc Mini R2, 3800X, Asus B450M-PRO mATX, 2x8GB B-die@3800C16, AMD Vega64, Seasonic 850W Gold, Black Ice Nemesis/Laing DDC/EKWB 240 Loop (VRM>CPU>GPU), Noctua Fans.
    Nas : i3/itx/2x4GB/8x4TB BTRFS/Raid6 (7 + Hotspare) Xpenology
    +++ : FSP Nano 800VA (Pi's+switch) + 1600VA (PC-1+Nas)

    Has a fix been implemented yet for the Raspberry Pi 2 component that is showing not wanted light-sensitivity?

    I haven't looked into R-Pi 2 yet, but did they also fix the ethernet, USB and Flash implementations issues that plagued R-Pi 1? On R-Pi 1, the USB was wonky and would lock up the entire Pi once in a while when stressed. Another side-effect was that you could easily lose the network connection when stressing USB, as ethernet runs off the USB bus (nasty!). Also flash cards would occasionally get corrupted on the R-Pi 1 (hasn't happened to me yet fortunately, but many people reported this).

    Another thing I wonder about is when plain Debian for armf will support R-Pi 2... I'd prefer it over having to use a fork such as Raspbian.
