Nice to see my very personal ratings of image quality confirmed. I do have a fine monitor (Iiyama VisionMaster Pro510, 22", 130KHz) and I'm quite picky about image quality.

I've done short DVD/DivX playback tests:
The IQ when using hardware acceleration is definitely up from the 8500 (where the image got a bit "grainy"), no real quirks up to now.

A slight disappointment, however was the fact that the card still seems to support only an overlay on one of the two monitors. Ithought that with the use of the cards Shaders for this they could support more than one. Maybe in a later driver revision - since Fullstream really seems not to be functional with the current ones. So here the Parhelia has an advantage up to now with it's dual overlays.

A great plus is that ATI stole (again, after implementing TheaterMode, which is a blatant rip-off of DVDMax) Matrox' hack to circumvent the Win2k DualHead abilities. The drivers do in fact install two 9700 cards, making real DualHead possible.
But we named the *dog* Indiana...

I thought I mentioned this earlier in this post, but I think it was over at Rage3D. I too see a noticeable decline in IQ above 1600x1200. Text gets noticeably blurry and the colors start to wash out. I am using a Mitsu 2040u 22". Honestly though, I am not to fond of this monitor.

        9700 Pro Results

and yet I still love my Parhelia more..... performance benchmarks do not give an accurate reflection of the card itself.
