I WILL Motherboard + Marvel G400-TV

Hi all,

Does anyone see a problem in running a Marvel G400-TV on a I WILL motherboard with a ALI Alading chip set?

I am using a AMD K6-II P400.

If there is a problem it's likely the mobo itself. I've run a Marvel G400 on one of our SS7 systems without any problems (FIC-PA2013/K6-3).

Have you disabled the write cache pipeline and read around write in the mobo's BIOS? This is often necessary on SS7 systems due to long standing bugs in the VIA and Ali chipsets.

Hi Ernie,

like Doc I have used the Marvel G400 in a SS7-board with VIA chipset (the FIC-VA503+ board) without any problems and AGP2x.

Now I´m using a Gigabyte-board with AMD-chipset (GA-7IX for AMD Athlon) and I still have not seen any compatibility problems.

I don´t know how it works with the ALI-chipset, but the G400 cards generally seem to have less problems with non-Intel chipsets than the G200s have had.
