  • Setting Color Saturation & Intensity Limits

    Hi,

    I have found that I can make very good animated, colored computer-generated titles using Corel Presentations Slide Show (part of Corel Word Perfect Suite 8), except my colors get distorted or are too hot and bleed when recorded directly to VCR. This is probably due to incorrect settings on my Mystique 220 Business Graphics card or Rainbow Runner Studio Card.

    My method is to output the title to my VCR where it is recorded, then I play the tape into Uleads MSP5.2 Video capture or I use the Matrox TV remote to capture and digitize the title for later use. My machine is a 200MMX.

    Sometimes, as in the case of a yellow title, a green leading shadow precedes each letter. I have unsuccessfully tried various ways to get the colors right for video, and would appreciate any help you could offer. The trouble may be in my settings.

    Have any of you using Rainbow Runner Studio TV Out found a way to set the Advanced TV Out settings for Broadcast Video to match Matrox's recommended settings of:
    Brightness = 180
    Contrast = 234
    Saturation = 137
    Hue = 0

    Matrox (in its RR v1.00.030 Win 95 ReadMe file) says these settings should be used for viewing full screen video from a video file.

    Also, how do you set color intensities and saturations using color bars?

    Regards,
    Don Routledge

    Hi Don,

    You are always going to lose quality if you go out to tape and then back in.

    Is there any way that you can output from Corel to either an AVI or a series of still images ? That way you might be able to import them into MSP.
