Hey...is it just ScratchPad?

I was capturing about 15 minutes of video (352x480 @ 29.97 fps, 1.407 MB/s) at a time using Ulead's Video Capture, and I loaded them into Video Editor to try out proxies for the first time. The next day, I ran through my videos in the scratch pad, and at about 11 minutes on each of my videos, a frame would appear to be repeated for the rest of the video.

I thought "GREAT. Now I have to re-capture everything at 10 minutes or less." I did so, and then before I deleted the proxy files, I checked them out...and they showed ALL the video in EACH file! What the hey?

Was it the scratch pad that just fouled up, or is it the Matrox driver?

Scratchpad has a 1 GB limitation, since it depends on the MCI drivers for Windows 95/98. Therefore, although your file size can be as large as 2 GB and play fine under Media Player and many other AVI players, Scratchpad won't let you view the entire file.

We've explored this issue on this forum a month or so ago; you might want to search through the archives for some more information if you are interested.

According to Ulead the scratchpad problem will be fixed in MSP6.
