Haig - Marvel G400 work with Cable boxes??

Haig, I was hoping you could help me solve my TV Tuner problems. It seems that when I have the Marvel G400 going through a cable box, all the cable channels have a lot of bad interference (shaking at the top/sides of picture). Now, the basic cable channels come in clearly, even when going through the cable box, so I don't know what's wrong. I've even tried switching cable boxes with a friend, and tried using the same outlet, but the problem remains. Could this be a driver issue? Help please!

Hmm...

I'm using a General Instruments digital box and all the channels come through fine. This has been true with both an Abit BH6 and an Asus P3B-F under Win98, Win98SE and WinNT4-SP5.

Hmm..... I'll have to try a VCR hookup and see if RCA cables into the BOB will be better... but, I don't get why the coax doesn't work with the cable box....

Hi Odin,

We haven't done any testing at all with any cable boxes. All TV Tuner tests were done with the cable plugged directly into our TV Tuner input.

If this is ok, then there might be some kind of noise interference going on with your cable box.

If all the regular channels are ok and only your pay tv or whatever is not, you might have to modify our registry settings to fine tune into the proper channel.

Well, about interference with the cable box, you do mean extra interference that the Marvel can't handle properly? because I have tried other cable boxes that have the same problem. But yes, it's simply the cable TV channels that the cable box is decoding that come in with a lot of interference. The basic cable channels come in fine, with minimal flickering/interference. Where and what in the registry would I be able to modify. Thanks for your help.
