  • Need help with video editing questions...

    Hey,

My roommate would like to do some video editing on my computer. He found some video editing software for about $100 made by Ulead. I know that video editing takes some horsepower, but I'm not knowledgable about video editing hardware. I have a Matrox G400 32MB dual head. I can't find any reviews on the Rainbow Runner. What is it? What does it do? Does the G400 Marvel feature video editing enhancements that the regular G400 doesn't have? Do I even need this stuff, or will the Ulead software be sufficient with my current system.

    Thanks

Adding a G-series Rainbow Runner to your G400 DH will give you the capability to capture and edit video. You would also benefit from having a seperate HD (as big as you can afford) to dedicate to the captured video.

The G400-TV is an all-in-one solution that has most of the capabilities of the G400 (except that dual head is limited to one monitor and a TV instead of 2 monitors) and is 16Mb instead of 32.

Ulead MSVE comes bundled with the G-RR (but not with the G400-TV), so you wouldn't have to spend out on that. The G-RR lists at $149 American if you can find one (they are currently in short supply).
