    Problem with tuner on RR-G.

My current setup is g200 + RRG.

I'm having problem with the tuner on my RRG.

The trouble is that sometimes it seems to be unable to find any of my channels. This happens without any changes in hardware or software configuration. Scanning for channels doesnt find any signal.

My tuner is setup for use in Denmark.

    Anybody with ideas or experience?

    Yours

      Hi,

Yeah, I have the same problem.

My RR-G TV tuner works about 1 in every 5 reboots. If it works once it will work for the entire time I have the computer running. As soon as I reboot it is likely to stop working.

I will then have to reboot heaps of times, trying it between reboots, until eventually it will work on one of them.

When it doesn't work I just get no picture. It takes AGES to change channels (like it is trying to tune it) and then eventually just shows fuzz. I can tell whether it is going to work or not because PC-VCR takes longer to load when it is going to fail.

      I have a G200 and RR-G.

I think the problem is my Abit motherboard (I have a BP6). Is your motherboard an Abit?

I think this is related to the whole Abit motherboard/power supply/RR-G issue that pops up every so often.

I use the latest in PD and Video Tools (5.30
        and 1.51).

My motherboard is an abit yes.

Overall it looks like we are having the same problem except that I didnt notice the difference in the time it takes to load and change channels.

Sorry there, I had my self fooled for a while. My MB is an Aopen AX6BC (solid rock), so maybe its got nothing to do with the MB.

I noticed during reboot though that my Network Controller, Serial bus (which I dont use, can it be disabled for any performance boost?) and a thing called "Multimedia Device" is all occupying IRQ 10. Is that bad?
And is that "Multimedia Device" my SBLive or could it be my RR-G?

You could try to verify the motherboard voltages...
i think i saw something about voltages affecting the hardware with random crashes ... resolved with reboot...

maybe it affects the tuner of the RRG..

i'm not an expert, but it's a thing to check...

            hope it helps!

            Mig.
