I am hoping to be able to capture directly to MPEG-2 using VideoStudio 4.

you can download it from www.cyberlink.com.tw

i haven't tried it yet ... looks like you need a 400mHz+ CPU -- my RRS is stuck in a 233mHz box!!

The frame rate tester in the program is crap
I think, so don´t trust it.
          Facts :
          352 X 288 RGB16
30 FPS (can`t change this in trail witch is a
pitty as I live in PAL territory)
The quality is good enough for playback to tv
          but it has some drops.

BUT you´re all missing my point this is the first way of making this poosible.

DaddyBay I hope the VideoStudio 4 thing works out keep us updated if so.

            Quick note :
            Tryed Videostudio 4 works almost
            identical as powervcr.
            but without timer functions.(Like VCR´s)

Neither 2 of these progs really capture
"direct" to mpeg-1 or to to be honest they
both do some kind of post encoding (AS I
                SEE WITH LIGOS LSX FILTERS)
This means that the only real use for them
                is simplyfiying some task.
EX. You´re away - Records with powervcr
comes home and has 1 finished mpg file to watch the news directly in mp or as in my case thru my H+ mpeg card connected to TV.
(All steps done when I was away)

In short this is just a supplement for shorttime vcr-look-and-delete caps, not
                longterm highQ mpeg´s.

But they are still useful try?
