  • Morgan MJPEG Codec

    I've been working a little bit with the morgan mjpeg codec, and have a few questions about installation.
    The instructions say to rem out the
    VIDC.dmb1=C:\PROGRA~1\MATROX~2\RRICM.DLL
    and add
    vidc.MJPG=m3jpeg32.dl
    This doesn't seem to work for me but if I replace the vidc.dmb1= with
    vidc.dmb1=m3jpeg32.dll
    things seem to work.
    Is this correct, or just a lucky hack?

    If it works don't tempt the Fates by wondering why ;-)

      Thanks! :-)
      Now to make premiere work right.
      In the prem50.ini file, if I set:

      [override]
      NoDirectShow=1

      When playback in the monitor window, after about 2-3 seconds everything locks up (accept the video) for about 30 seconds.

      If I put

      [override]
      NoDirectShow=0

      Everything runs smooth, but when I do a frame by frame, the monitor window goes black.

      Ideas?

            i've seen people talking about the morgan codec for some time now in this forum... i'm just wondering if it's a codec that comes with the card or if i have to d/l it somewhere, and if i do, where?

              inperson:
              I've used the codec on a non-mjpeg card, and it works great also... ...Seems the problem is the marvel trying to hardware decode image, and this gives a problem to premiere.

              The morgan codec is a software mjpeg codec. It's a great way to work on video projects on different machines, only one having a hardware mjpeg card. It also alows you to share videos between different mjpeg cards, ie: iomega buzz and the rainbow runner/marvel

              I'm pretty happy with it.

              I've never been able to get premiere to work 100% with the marvel yet. :-(
